    Great Victorinox watch!

I did not purchase directly from Amazon, but bought this watch from Jomashop, which is one of the vendors for Amazon. I am extremely happy with my transaction with Jomashop! The Victorinox Black Chrono 241494 is a beautiful watch that I absolutely love. The weight and build of the watch is astounding and the craftsmanship by Victorinox is immaculate. The hands line up perfectly with the tick marks. This is a watch that I can dress up or wear casually and certainly a watch that I will wear everyday for many years to come. The watch came in brand new, perfect condition with all of the original plastic protective stickers all over the sapphire crystal face and watchband. The packaging job that Jomashop did was very impressive, much better than I anticipated. They wrapped the package extremely well so that there were little to no voids between it and the surrounding shipping box. And you can't beat the price! Yes, you do not get the certified stamp from Victorinox so it is not covered... 5/5 soccrosse - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241494 Black Dial Chronograph Watch (Watch) I did not purchase directly from Amazon, but bought this watch from Jomashop, which is one of the vendors for Amazon. Nice One

I got this watch overseas - Bermuda vacation (Crissons) - Which was more expensive than here by 20% (cost me $505) but 20% less than, say, Bloomingdales at $580. I had wanted to walk in to Crissons and buy a Rolex Sub, or Oyster Datejust - and I had the money to do it sequestered. Having looked at the Rolex line, and heard about why they leverage a 10% increase every year (the Sub was $8000+ and had been 6K just a couple of summers ago) I decided that Rolex has OFFICIALLY jumped the shark. $8,000 is two summers of my kids camp, or a nice family vacation. I couldn't drop the Amex on the counter for that - and honestly I think that the value/price just seems to have decoupled from one another.... Why 8K for a 300M stainless steel watch? Also, the arguments that they will just 'go up' so it's a good investment seemed silly - since no jewelry is every a good investment unless you bought a Daytona in 1966 and didn't wear it.So - looking around - I spy-ed this lovely watch... 5/5 Matthew Peyton (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ, US) - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241494 Black Dial Chronograph Watch (Watch) I got this watch overseas - Bermuda vacation (Crissons) - Which was more expensive than here by 20% (cost me $505) but 20% less than, say, Bloomingdales at $580. classy watch for a man - perfect!

0 5/5 KV - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241494 Black Dial Chronograph Watch (Watch) Husband bought this watch after looking at 100+ others. He LOVES it! Took him months to decide on the right watch, but he found it. He needed a classy looking watch for work and his line of business - financing, but didn't want one that screamed look at me. This is the perfect watch. He can also wear it on the weekends. He doesn't have big wrists, and this looks great on him -perfect size - still looks manly. Some of the other bulky ones looked too big on his wrists. He is tall, but not big boned. The positive reviews on here were right on. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 20, 2012

    Just what I wanted.

0 5/5 bobgray5 - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Quartz Men's Watch #241309 (Watch) Love this watch. I wanted a basic watch that is stylish, for out in the town, yet has a vintage rugged look to it without all the bells and whistles The color is versatile, and attractive. The band is a little thin for my big wrists, but all and all it is a well-made watch that I would recommend. Very satisfied. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 11, 2012

    It's Green!

I almost missed this watch while shopping, in that it had a brown strap, which is a non-starter. Then I thought the face was a grey-black. Yet it still was attractive: The dial-to-case ratio is very efficient in that the matte finished case extends a mere 4mm beyond the cyrystal, which measures 31mm across. So, the case measures 39mm, not counting the stem knob. As a result, the watch appears to the eye as all face with no clunky metal surround. And what a face: large luminous numbers, big hands, 24 hour markings and a date window (albeit too small). Overall: Cool. Got to have it. So I bought it at a very good price, quite below the Internet offers--host site included...The first thing I did when I got it home was dye the strap black. Then I discovered under bright sunlight, that the face was olive drab, not grey black. Maybe that's why its called a vintage infantry watch. I'm Navy, but love the color, anyway. Did I mention that the stainless steel case is matte finished,... 5/5 Pommes - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Quartz Men's Watch #241309 (Watch) I almost missed this watch while shopping, in that it had a brown strap, which is a non-starter. Great Look, Questionable Craftsmanship

I did a lot of research prior to buying this product and it holds true authenticity upon receipt. You want to look for "swiss made" near the 6 o clock on the dial face. It keeps time well just as a quartz should, the band and case are quality material with some weight, and I love the contrast between the green dial and brown leather band.Update (1 year in)My watch is "freezing" occasionally, for anywhere from 6-15 minutes. This went unnoticed for some time until I started showing up late to meetings and realized my watch was slow. The problem has gotten worse and so I've looked at getting it replaced under the warranty. The service center has told me it needs a complete internal replacement. I bought the watch from "BlueDial" who basically lied about it having a warranty as they are not authorized sellers. Amazon has stepped in and is repairing the watch for me so I am thankful to them, but the moral of the story is the questionable mechanical integrity of this... 3/5 Matt - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Like it a lot

0 5/5 Clef Qian (West Chester, PA USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Peak II Men's Quartz Watch 241271-CB (Watch) I love it. The silver face w/ black band is very sharp looking. It is dubbed a men's watch, but the band is indeed short (another reviewer pointed this out, which helped me go for it) but fits my small (female) wrist exactly. The watch itself is not too thick-- another Swiss Army watch I have is so fat and heavy that it is cumbersome and I don't enjoy wearing it like this one. Not a dress watch but I like it for sports and regular activities. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 6, 2014

0 4/5 M Reid - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Peak II Men's Quartz Watch 241271-CB (Watch) The watch is a fine, understated size and style. It feels like a quality product, especially in the clasp, which I'm fairly certain is metal. Big plus. However, I have skinnier-side-of-average wrists and I'm on the second to last notch on the band. The Swiss military must be a lean bunch. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 31, 2014

Great looking watch, classic simple design.

0 5/5 Don S. (Wisconsin, USA) - See all my reviews The Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance #241474 is a great looking Swiss-made quartz watch. It is very nicely sized at 40mm--not too big or too small. The bezel is either chrome plated or highly polished to a flawless finish. The face is satin black with applied bright metal numbers (3, 6, & 9) and hour markers along with the Victorinox logo at 12 o'clock. The balance of the markings are cleanly printed in silver. There are luminous hands along with hour marker dots on the bezel. The band is a quality feeling matte-finish black leather with subtle dark grey stitching. To my eye, this design is close to perfect. It's dignified enough to dress up smartly, but not too fussy to be worn in more casual situations. Highly recommended. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 25, 2011

great value and a good look

I bought it because I wanted a swiss-made but did not want to pay a lot. The Maverick seemed to be a good choice because I didnot care about a chronometer and to me it only made sense to pay for the quartz less than $500. For more it would not be a good deal because a decent automatics start at $700 (my next). I like most about it two things:- It's a man's watch: you really feel a solid craftsmanship putting it on and off;- Everybody comments on it positively when they see it for the 1st time (it also has something to do with the fact that it looks very similar to the Tag Heuer for $1,500 and even slightly to the Rolex Submariner for $5,000).A couple of things any buyer should consider:1) It is REALLY heavy, so be prepared. It's massive too, so it looks better on a thicker wrist.2) The photos are misleading: big digits are reflective and change color all the time (even to the plain black!), so every time one has to adjust it a little to the light... 5/5 Vad Allen (NYC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241436 Maverick Stainless Steel Black Dial Watch (Watch) I bought it because I wanted a swiss-made but did not want to pay a lot. Something to believe in

I have had this watch now for four months. It has taken all sorts of daily abuse in stride and usually stays on my wrist 24 hours a day. The stainless steel case is solid and of beautiful brushed finish with polished accents. I expect it to age gracefully. The sapphire crystal is still without scratches and should stay that way for a long time. When worn it gains 3 or 4 seconds a month, 11 when left in the drawer. The bracelet is solid stainless steel too, without sharp edges to dig into your wrist. The design of the clasp avoids accidental opening. The Arabic numerals are raised and polished to a mirror finish, contributing to the excellent legibility. I like and use the rotatable bezel; for my uses it is often more practical than chronograph hands. There is nothing I really dislike but I would prefer a less cluttered dial without the inner set of numerals from 14 to 22. The date is too small to be read at a glance and I would prefer the austere look of just 3 hands. But... 4/5 C. J. Hinsch (Woodcliff Lake, NJ USA) - See all my reviews, August 9, 2011
