Received mine as a gift. The chronograph instructions were a bit difficult to understand at first, but after watching a video on Victorinox' web site, it became clear. There IS a way to correct when the chronograph doesn't reset properly, the other reviewer missed that setting. But hey, so did I at first! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 6, 2014

0 5/5 bobgray5 - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Quartz Men's Watch #241309 (Watch) Love this watch. I wanted a basic watch that is stylish, for out in the town, yet has a vintage rugged look to it without all the bells and whistles The color is versatile, and attractive. The band is a little thin for my big wrists, but all and all it is a well-made watch that I would recommend. Very satisfied. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 11, 2012

    It's Green!

I almost missed this watch while shopping, in that it had a brown strap, which is a non-starter. Then I thought the face was a grey-black. Yet it still was attractive: The dial-to-case ratio is very efficient in that the matte finished case extends a mere 4mm beyond the cyrystal, which measures 31mm across. So, the case measures 39mm, not counting the stem knob. As a result, the watch appears to the eye as all face with no clunky metal surround. And what a face: large luminous numbers, big hands, 24 hour markings and a date window (albeit too small). Overall: Cool. Got to have it. So I bought it at a very good price, quite below the Internet offers--host site included...The first thing I did when I got it home was dye the strap black. Then I discovered under bright sunlight, that the face was olive drab, not grey black. Maybe that's why its called a vintage infantry watch. I'm Navy, but love the color, anyway. Did I mention that the stainless steel case is matte finished,... 5/5 Pommes - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Infantry Vintage Quartz Men's Watch #241309 (Watch) I almost missed this watch while shopping, in that it had a brown strap, which is a non-starter. I Would Feel Unprepared For My Day Without It!

For many years now, I have carried one of these small Swiss Army knives on each of my two key rings - one for work and one for home. Barely a day goes by when I do not take one of them out of my pocket to use once or twice - to quickly file down a broken nail, to tweeze out a small splinter, to cut open a small item with the scissor of something larger by cutting the wrapping tape with the knife blade - the toothpick is used daily! I cannot imagine being without one. Of course, I own larger and more multi-purpose knives, but when it comes to carrying something this handy on a key chain or ring, you just can't beat them! There are two major (authorized) manufacturers of Swiss Army knives: Victorinox, the maker of this particular favorite of mine and Wenger, a reliable alternative brand that makes many similar and some even nearly identical models. I have used both over the years and have found there to be absolutely no appreciable differences in the quality, durability or... 5/5 D. A Trusty Little Pocket Toolbox

This particular pocketknife has become one of my personal favorites for many reasons. For it's small size it might appear to be a sissy, but it will out do any single blade or three-blade pocketknife of comparable dimension with it's extra utilitarian options. When all tools are folded in, the unit measures about two and a forth inches long or a little more that five and a half centimeters. Weighing just a few grams, it's a pocketknife that is basically so light; you won't even notice you're carrying it. Comes with a single blade which is about one and a half inches long (3.5 cm), a nail file with a regular screwdriver head, toothpick, tweezers, scissors and a tiny key ring for attachment, not to mention the Swiss Army quality.Often inside or out, I'm doing some kind of small project that involves typical constructive handy work, and have come to love the tweezers on this contraption. So nice to have that on hand the moment I get a splinter, especially when dealing with a... 5/5 B.P. Classic Indeed

After 14 years of service my Victorinox mini-Swiss Army Knife (SAK) has finally begun to show its age: the toothpick went missing, the enamel casing cracked, the insignia fell off. So I've bought another (the original sits in a drawer, its knife blade as sharp as ever, the screwdriver still perfectly utile, the scissors are gummed up but could probably be cleaned out with some rubbing alcohol). For versatility and simplicity it's hard to beat this item. Sure there are SAKs with more blades and tools, but the simple knife/screwdriver/scissors combination is going to meet the vast majority of your needs (ok, it doesn't have a bottle opener: use a door strike plate, MacGyver). The toothpick is so-so, but I can't count the number of times I've needed to tweeze something and used the SAK tweezers when I couldn't find the bathroom set. The key fob, while not the most exciting of features, does provide a convenient way to carry the SAK around with you. This item is sure to please... 5/5 C. T. great value and a good look

I bought it because I wanted a swiss-made but did not want to pay a lot. The Maverick seemed to be a good choice because I didnot care about a chronometer and to me it only made sense to pay for the quartz less than $500. For more it would not be a good deal because a decent automatics start at $700 (my next). I like most about it two things:- It's a man's watch: you really feel a solid craftsmanship putting it on and off;- Everybody comments on it positively when they see it for the 1st time (it also has something to do with the fact that it looks very similar to the Tag Heuer for $1,500 and even slightly to the Rolex Submariner for $5,000).A couple of things any buyer should consider:1) It is REALLY heavy, so be prepared. It's massive too, so it looks better on a thicker wrist.2) The photos are misleading: big digits are reflective and change color all the time (even to the plain black!), so every time one has to adjust it a little to the light... 5/5 Vad Allen (NYC) - See all my reviews This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241436 Maverick Stainless Steel Black Dial Watch (Watch) I bought it because I wanted a swiss-made but did not want to pay a lot. Something to believe in

I have had this watch now for four months. It has taken all sorts of daily abuse in stride and usually stays on my wrist 24 hours a day. The stainless steel case is solid and of beautiful brushed finish with polished accents. I expect it to age gracefully. The sapphire crystal is still without scratches and should stay that way for a long time. When worn it gains 3 or 4 seconds a month, 11 when left in the drawer. The bracelet is solid stainless steel too, without sharp edges to dig into your wrist. The design of the clasp avoids accidental opening. The Arabic numerals are raised and polished to a mirror finish, contributing to the excellent legibility. I like and use the rotatable bezel; for my uses it is often more practical than chronograph hands. There is nothing I really dislike but I would prefer a less cluttered dial without the inner set of numerals from 14 to 22. The date is too small to be read at a glance and I would prefer the austere look of just 3 hands. But... 4/5 C. J. Hinsch (Woodcliff Lake, NJ USA) - See all my reviews, August 9, 2011

    Beautiful Watch

A watch is the one thing that might just be worth splurging on (if you consider $319 " splurging"). Of course you can pay a lot less, or a lot more for a watch, but a watch that's functional, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable is important. If your like me, you'll likely be using it on a daily basis, for a decade or more. The reason I was in the market for a new watch is that the band on my 15 year old Swiss Army watch kept breaking after repeated repairs. I looked into getting a replacement band but the band alone would run me $140, so I figured I might as well look at a completely new watch. After lots of looking around, I chose the Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241405 Chrono Classic PVD Coated Grey Dial Watch. Product Exactly as Described

0 4/5 ashley - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241405 Chrono Classic PVD Coated Grey Dial Watch (Watch) Just received the Victorinox Swiss Army 241405 Chrono Classic. It was a birthday gift for my husbands 30th. It is packaged very well. The watch itself is beautiful. The face is gunmetal grey, but in certain light, it looks dark brown. Either way, it's great, it will go with anything. This is a very nice watch at a great price. The only thing a potential buyer may need to know is that Swiss Army only honors their 3 year warranty when their watch is sold through an authorized retailer. Because JomaShop and Amazon are both not authorized retailers, the warranty card is not "stamped". The discounted price makes up for the lack of warranty from Swiss Army in my mind. Also, Amazon warranties the watch for 2 years. So not a bad trade off, all-in-all. I am very happy with my purchase. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 6, 2011

    I love this watch

0 5/5 Dan Apol (Bellevue, WA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Victorinox Swiss Army Men's 241405 Chrono Classic PVD Coated Grey Dial Watch (Watch) I spent quite a bit of time searching for this watch. I was looking for a stainless watch with bracelet, chronograph (or subdials of some sort, purely for the look), black face and 40mm or less. I stretched 1mm on the case (no big deal), and the face is dark enough to get the look that I was after. I love the face. The face is guilloched, that is there is a pattern cut into the face. The subdials appear to rest inside of it, and the numbers rise above it and have a metallic finish to them. The result is a different look to the watch as lighting changes, which I find very appealing. This is my first Victorinox, and I'm looking forward to wearing it for many years. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 12, 2010

one of a kind, but wish it had an always on setting

Let me start off by saying that there is no alternative for this watch in production today. If you want style and a great land navigation tool built into one, this is definatly your only choice. The good points about it, is it works very well, it has a setting to offset the compass for varying inclinations (offset for magnetic north), solid look and feel, basically everything I could think of wanting from an electronic compass. The two cons are pretty substantial though. One it doesn't look like a 500 dollar watch, it's eye catching, people have never seen anything like it before, more then likely, but you will have to explain to them what it does before they realize why it is so special. Which in turn gets many oooo'sthe second is from the practical side of the watch, if you are using it to follow a path, and are the type that likes to constantly look at his compass, there is no option to leave the compass on, rather you'll have it cut out... 4/5 Justin Hewelt "thereckoning" (Spring, Tx United States) - See all my reviews, March 18, 2008

Had promise, but sadly not worth it due to the overall experience.

I purchased this watch (not through Amazon). When it worked (for about 2 1/2 - 3 years) it worked well (I used the compass as a backup when hiking, it looked good, had the right heft I was looking for in a watch, and was overall great for "real" use and for casual wearing). Once it started having problems (see below) the watch went into a set of repair and maintenance cycles that ruined its usability and wear-ability.First the bubble level dislodged and was lost during normal wear. Not a major issue but a daily visual reminder that may have been an installation problem in setting it.Second and critically, the watch stopped working. this was after about 2 1/2 years. I had the batteries changed but this didn't solve it. I then reached out to Victorinox proper and was informed it had to go to only approved repair shops of which there are not many meaning mailing and/or extensive driving).
